STARTER PLUS PROGRAM
The Starter Plus+ Program is designed for those nonprofits who are ready to get serious about fundraising and take their organization to the next level.
If your nonprofit has discussed the benefits of creating a successful fundraising strategy and is willing to invest in your organization’s future, then this program is a great place to start. Between a series of pre-prepared content and services performed by Cogeo, the program will provide you with the right messaging, tools, team, research, and strategy needed to launch your own fundraising campaign. You will establish the foundation and internal structure necessary to support the fundraising tactics that we will teach you.
This program will come at a cost. It requires that your leadership be ready to dedicate their time (roughly 3-5 hours per week) and energy to seeing it through. Cogeo will be there to support you along the way, but it is up to you to take the lessons within this program and implement them successfully.

What to Expect
This program will take you through the first 12 months of a strategic fundraising campaign. We will not only teach you about fundraising and development, but also offer you one-on-one consulting and help you execute tasks throughout each step of the process.
After completing this course, you should be on a clear path to meeting and exceeding your nonprofit’s goals of expanding either programmatically, financially, or physically.
MESSAGING Create a Case Statement
The first step in any fundraising campaign should be to establish the messaging and goals. A case statement is a tool that your team will use throughout your campaign to clearly and creatively communicate your organization’s mission, vision, and needs.
STARTER PLUS+ You will receive a content template for messaging and a guide to collect powerful images and quotes. Cogeo Services will do a final edit of your case statement content, provide notes if necessary, edit the final version, and design the case statement for you.
TOOLS Establish a Salesforce Nonprofit CRM database
Another crucial step when building a foundation for fundraising is to make sure your team has a way to properly and efficiently track donor data. Establishing a customer relationship management system, or CRM, is the best way to do this.
STARTER PLUS+ The program will instruct you on how to collect your organization’s donor data. You’ll find a step-by-step guide on how to arrange the information you have, then Cogeo Services will establish a Salesforce Nonprofit CRM account for you, as well as upload and arrange the data to be fundraising-focused, then train you on the system.
TEAM Develop your Board of Directors & Build a Steering Committee
In order for your nonprofit organization to evolve, you must have a strong leadership team behind you. Fundraising starts with your Board of Directors. Without their support, your organization’s fundraising journey will be slow moving. As well, a Steering Committee will allow your fundraising campaign to grow efficiently and organically.
STARTER PLUS+ The program will provide thorough educational content about leadership -- your Board of Directors and Steering Committee. Cogeo Services will coach you on how a Steering Committee meeting should unfold and how to properly engage its members. You will find scripts and templates to communicate with your leadership.
RESEARCH Uncover Prime Grant Opportunities
Foundation outreach is a cornerstone of any nonprofit’s fundraising strategy. There are opportunities out there for every organization.
STARTER PLUS+ Cogeo Services will provide you with a list of grant opportunities. The program will provide a clear guide on how to research this list and uncover the best grants to apply for. You will also find some grant writing best practices to support your efforts.
STRATEGY Establish a Plan for Major Gifts, Annual Giving, Corporate Outreach, & Events
Then, we’ll help you execute.
These tactics are all significant pieces that will need to be included in your fundraising campaign. Each approach needs to be addressed
STARTER PLUS+ The program will provide you with educational content for all tactics, while Cogeo Services will meet with you to prepare you for meetings, marketing, events, and more. We will be on standby for questions as your team executes its fundraising campaign.
What You’ll Need
In order to complete any of these programs, you’ll need:
Internet access
Computer or tablet
3-5 hours per week to work on lessons, complete tasks, and meet with consultants or donors
A clear understanding of or willingness to uncover your nonprofit’s mission, programs, goals, and fundraising needs
Access to your nonprofit’s data
Access to Board of Directors
Access to nonprofit’s community members
